Together with the rest of the world, the Netherlands faces an immense climate challenge. Our fossil-based society and industry must be transformed. This requires green hydrogen as a pulling force for that transition. GroenvermogenNL is working on this in a coherent program along various pillars with great ambitions.

GroenvermogenNL focuses on accelerating a well-functioning market for the industrial use of green hydrogen. The National Growth Fund Program has four instruments, pillars with their own ambitions that also show mutual cohesion.
Coordinating research and innovation. Work package 2, ‘Transport and storage of hydrogen’ and Work package 3, ‘Direct use of hydrogen’ have begun.
Our ambition is to complete five pilot projects in relevant sections of the value chain before 2025.
Our aim is to commence three demonstration projects in 2023 (DEI scheme) and five demonstration projects of 10 to 25 MW before 2025. We expect to publish the follow-on DEI scheme in Q2 of 2023.
How will we inspire new talent? The infrastructure for collaboration with six universities of applied sciences and regional liaisons was put in place in 2022. A total of six Learning Communities will ideally be operational in 2023. We expect the plans for these learning communities and their grant schemes in mid-2023.
